SKILLSET
How can I help you?
Through my studies, internships, courses and work I have learned several skills with which I can help you in your digital journey. Some of these skills are listed here.
HTML5 & CSS3
With the use of HTML5 and CSS3 I can make neat looking websites (like this one).
C#
C# is my favorite programming language, I have been using it for 11 years. Frameworks and libraries I commonly use are: Entity Framework, Dapper and AutoMapper. Techniques I use are functional, object-orientend and asynchronous programming.
Java
With java I can make fast and scalable backends. I have for example made an simple online banking system.
Angular
Angular is my to go framework to build a frontend. With it you can easily connect the frontend to an API, and use interfaces to easily map the objects.
Design patterns
Whether you're looking for a robust architecture for a complex application or a simple, scalable solution, my experience with design patterns ensures your project will be built with a focus on quality, performance, and maintainability.
Team work
In software development good teamwork and communication are of vital importance. During my studies, internships and jobs I have worked in several teams. Most of these teams use scrum & devops, which I like since I am a certified scrum master. My role in a team is often generating ideas.
We are very satisfied with the work done by Jesse van Evert. With his technical skills and extensive knowledge of front- and backend development, he has made a significant contribution to the success of our project.
MY JOURNEY
From a dreamy teen to a dedicated programmer
My programming journey started when I was 14. It all started when my friends convinced me to build a gaming pc, instead of buying the latest console.
By building a pc I got interested in hardware, and how the different parts work together. After learning about hardware I started wondering how software is created. My curiousity let me to learn C# after all this time still my favorite language, and the language I am most skilled and knowledgeable in.
After studying programming myself for two years by watching youtube videos, using freecodecamp and codecademy, I graduated from highschool, and chose the study "Application and Media development". Because of my prior knowledge and some luck I was able to do the study in two and a half years instead of four. I didn't think I was a skilled enough programmer yet, so I then signed up for a computer science bachelour. This study was a lot more though, and focused on reliable, well written and high performance code. Through dedication, great teachers and lots of study hours I graduated with good grades.
